Discover the City’s historic Guildhall and Barbican by taking part on our Active City Network walks
Des from the Ramblers is running a short circular walk through Guildhall, Barbican and surrounding area as part of our Active City Network walks this summer.
The walk will explore the areas around the Guildhall, which has been used as a town hall for several hundred years, and is still the ceremonial and administrative centre of the City of London and its Corporation.
The walk will also venture onto the Barbican Estate, which was built during the 1960s and the 1980s, in an area once devastated by World War II bombings and today densely populated by local residents, the Barbican Arts Centre, the Museum of London, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Barbican public library, the City of London School for Girls and more.
- Start and end outside the City of London Corporation North Wing Reception, Guildhall Yard, London, EC2V 5AE
- The walk will start at 5.30 and end about 6.30 pm, and everyone is then invited to attend the City Beerfest in the Guildhall Yard!
No booking required.
