Invitation to stakeholders on Chancery Lane
Invitation to stakeholders on Chancery Lane
The City of London Corporation, Active City Network and the Chancery Lane Association are combining forces on a project that will see the street closed to traffic at lunchtime for five days this coming September.
“Lunchtime Streets” is a proposal to remove traffic from a street over a lunchtime period, so people can enjoy their lunch in a safer, healthier and more pleasant environment.
Cities around the world have been exploring ways to to create people-friendly streets and reduce the dominance of car traffic. In some cases car free days, timed closures these have shown they can improve the quality of the air in that area, the safety of the streets, and encourage people to use the public realm.
