#SaferSpeeds #Saferbehaviours
We’ll be there talking about…
Changes to speed limit - don't get caught out
All local streets in the Square Mile are already 20mph, and the only remaining 30mph (Upper and Lower Thames Street) will be changing to 20mph soon.
While at the event we’ll be working with the City Police to give away friendly advice and support, but the week after will see the City Police giving out fines to those who exceed the speed limit or have other legal issues such as lack of correct insurance.
Filtering risks
While filtering through traffic is legal we would like to remind bikers that in a busy place like the City of London there is a high possibility of a person stepping out in front of you, so please always be ready to stop.
Check out this near miss on YouTube and ask about motorcycle training at our event.
Free disc locks
Bike theft is an ever-present problem but the MCIA are kindly donating high quality Oxford Products disc locks, worth £25, to the first 75 bikers attending each session.
Cleaner bikes better Air Quality
With manufacturers like Harley-Davidson investing in their e-bike technology, the future of biking is electric! Looking to convert your bike to e-power? Come and see the latest bikes and technology in a show organised by the MCIA.

Ian Edwards the Chair of the City Riders Forum said:
“I am pleased to be working with both the cyclist and biker community this year. As both a motor and pedal cyclist myself, I recognise that all riders have an important role to play in keeping the City moving safely.”
A representitive from the MCIA added:
“The MCIA is pleased to support this event and wants to encourage the use of Powered Two Wheelers to reduce traffic congestion and its associated exhaust emissions in the City of London. However, the City’s streets are crowded and it us up to us all to look out for each other and to take responsibility for each other’s safety.”
The first 75 people to attend the event can receive a package worth over £100
