2023 London Walking and Cycling Conference date announced!
6 February 2023
The annual London Walking & Cycling Conference is returning on the 9 June 2023 at the Guildhall, London for another year, this time focusing on how London and other cities can take walking and cycling to the next level to achieve carbon neutrality.
Over the pandemic there were a flurry of improvements to the infrastructure in place to encourage active travel across the world, transforming how people interact with the spaces they live and travel within. But now we ask the question, what comes next?
Possible topics for speakers include the following, although any topics in the wider context of sustainable transport are welcomed:
Being Bold & Taking Action - Turning bold ideas into action within the current economic climate for local authorities, businesses and non-profits.
Community Spaces - Creating new public spaces out of the old with community at their heart.
Health & Wellbeing - Enabling people to make healthy choices in their everyday travel.
Measuring Successes - Measuring and understanding the work we’ve done so far to make sure next steps are even stronger.
They City Corporation and Hackney Council are currently looking for speakers to present their ideas to the Conference.
They welcome papers from across the sector including campaigners, academics, local authority officers and any other interested parties. We would especially like to welcome any new voices and fresh perspectives on walking and cycling, especially from minority voices.
While the conference might have ‘London’ in
the title, they are also seeking papers from outside the city and outside the UK
so that we can learn from wide-ranging perspectives.
