Carols for the City

In partnership with the Lord Mayor of the City of London, the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and the VOCES8 Foundation will be holding a virtual Carol Service on Tuesday 8 December 2020.

The singing will be live streamed from the Church of St Agnes and St Anne in Gresham Street. This unique Carol Service will include traditional readings and lessons by a host of very distinguished readers including HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex KG KCVO, Sir Kenneth Olisa, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater London, Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman William Russell and Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England.

One of the organists will be the Past Lord Mayor, Alderman Sir Andrew Parmley. You can sing along and join in at home to the well known carols which will be led by VOCES8 who, along with Apollo5 and the children of a local school, will also perform some wonderful choral pieces.

The service will benefit The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, The WCIT Charity, the VOCES8 Foundation and The Friends of the City Churches. It is our hope that this service will provide a great way for the City to join together in these difficult times.

‘Doors will open’ at 5.30pm with videos about the charities, the City, the Livery and its history. The service will begin at 6pm and finish at about 7pm.
