Cycle Maintenance & Posture Training
The City of London Corporation and havebike are working together on an initiative to promote and provide bicycle training to the whole City Community, including workers, residents and students.
With the number of cyclists ever increasing, together, we want to ensure that everyone is travelling on safe, road-worthy bikes, and has the necessary training to cycle safely and with confidence.
Between now and Spring 2020, the City of London Corporation and havebike are running pop-up bicycle maintenance and training workshops, held at key roadside locations and at partner organisations in the Square Mile.
These cycle skills sessions will teach City workers and residents how to perform core bicycle maintenance at home, how to ensure correct posture on their bike, and how to correctly change and innertube in case of a puncture. Havebike will also be promoting Bikeability training with same-day sign-ups available.
For schools, we’re aiming to encourage more children to enjoy the benefits of cycling by promoting and running a BMX bicycle training day in Spring 2020. We’ll see children learning from leading BMX racers, and hopefully taking this training to the next level.
