Judge says: 'Cyclists must be prepared' We say "Be Brake Ready"

The garden designer was cycling home from work when a lady stepped out from the pavement into the road -staring at her mobile. The rider had come through a green traffic light, and had sounded a loud air horn attached to his bike, as well as shouting, swerving and braking in a bid to avoid her.

But in a significant ruling, the judge said the rider was liable to pay compensation because 'cyclists must be prepared at all times for people to behave in unexpected ways.'
