City of London Riders Forum
City of London Riders Forum
9 January 2019
The City of London Corporation has recently released is Road Danger Reduction Plan which outlines its commitment to improving road safety within the Square Mile, as part of this the Corporation has committed to establishing a Riders Forum to help direct the City's approach to improving safety for two wheelers.
The City of London Corporation will be hosting the inception meeting of the Riders Forum on Tuesday the 22nd of January. This will be a round-table meeting of key representatives from cycling and motorcycling groups, the Road Danger Reduction Partnership, local government, residents and businesses. Its purpose will be to identify the terms of reference and, going forward, it’s Chair.
Our aim is to design and convene a larger scale public event soon afterwards in the spring, and we would like to hear your thoughts as to what activities and presentations we should have at this event to attract riders to attend.
Moving forward the Forum will be a voice for everyone interested in cycling and motorcycling to discuss cycling-related issues and promote opportunities for riding in the City. It will provide an opportunity to meet council staff, councillors and other interested parties to exchange views and ideas that can help to promote riding.
Everyone will be welcome, from experienced commuters, new and novice riders or professionals who want a greater understanding of projects targeting two wheelers and the opportunity to influence the City of London Corporation’s approach to rider safety.
If you would like to be part of the Riders Forum inception meeting or receive more information about future Riders Forum events please contact rdr@cityoflondon.gov.uk.
