Driver Services
Driver Services
Active City Network partners located within the City of London can receive a number of free services for their staff.
These services can include:
Driver training and advice
With the support of the City Corporation there are a number of driver training sessions available. The Safer Urban Driving (SUD) course for example helps to improve road safety, focusing on understanding how vulnerable road users (predominately pedestrians and cyclists) behave. This experience gives large goods vehicle drivers a first hand experience of being a a vulnerable road user themselves. The course involves both a classroom and on the road sessions - this training will help teach drivers valuable skills to become safer and more confident on the road.
Please contact us for more information on courses in the City of London or visit the Fleetsource Website, where you can find Transport For London Funded SUD courses across London.
Responsible procurement and advice
With the support of the City Corporation officers, businesses can receive 1-2-1 advice on improving the efficiency and safety of their supply chains and drivers.
This includes advice on applying for Fleet Operators and Recognition Scheme (FORS) accreditation. FORS is a national accreditation for all fleet operators, it incorporates safety, fuel efficiency, emissions etc. and helps operators improve performance, operate within the law and comply with best practice.
